Clean Water Is Health Care, Too

Unsafe water. Limited sanitation. Preventable illness spreading before families can stop it. FOTCOH’s WASH program brings clean water access, hygiene resources, and prevention education directly into rural communities.

WASH

When Water Itself Becomes a Health Risk

Without clean water and basic sanitation, preventable illness can spread quickly and weaken the impact of medical care. In rural Haiti, waterborne disease, poor sanitation, and limited hygiene resources continue to create serious health risks for families and communities.

For FOTCOH, health care does not stop at the clinic. Lasting health also depends on helping communities prevent illness before treatment is needed.

How FOTCOH Responds

Prevention Through Clean Water and Education

FOTCOH’s WASH program brings prevention directly into rural communities through water filter distribution, sanitation kits, hygiene resources, and education on clean water use and disease prevention.

Rather than waiting for patients to come to the clinic, outreach teams go into communities to provide practical tools and training that help families protect their health every day. As the program continues to grow, FOTCOH is working to expand its reach and strengthen WASH as a broader prevention model in Haiti.
